Scene Story

   Eline

Eline was running through a forest with black trees. The sky was grey and she was running as fast as she can. Her black as night dress was trailing behind her getting stuck between branches. Her pale skin was dirty and her beautiful brown bun had fallen into her face. As she ran through the foggy noon her sword was tapping and slapping against her thigh. She could hear the demon behind her stomping their paws into the ground shaking the Earth. Her heart was racing and her breathing was going scarce. But she had to keep running. This was not how she expected her afternoon; running away from the ball because her sister snapped and protested against the New King. As punishment, they were going to execute her with the demon. As a sister, she couldn’t let that happen, so she fought against the soldiers. Then again, because of her sister begin her twin; The dragon thought it was Eline who had done the rebellion crime. With all the thought swimming through her head filled with anxiety and fighting with this reality. She almost fell off a ledge and stopped in place as soon as the realized. Dang It She shought. The raven like forest was on a cliff and Eline had not thought of the next move. She stood there pacing trying to find a way out. She figured no matter which direction she would turn she would get caught. Therefore there was only one option. To kill the demon.

She turns toward the forest again and the demon was coming. She could hear its loudness. Her heart was racing but she would have to have courage. She stared at the woods and watched how the trees tangled at each other from afar. She would not jump over the cliff or run away from the demon. She would stand there and wait for the demon to show.

Eline was cautious of her surroundings as everything suddenly went silent. She wondered if the demon was coming. Everything was still quiet when she jumped to a croaking sound. Only to find herself looking up at the sky to find black birds. She clenches and squeezes her sword ready for battle, ready to fight. But as she stared all around her nothing was happening just dead silence. She takes a deep breathe to calm down and stabs her sword into the Earth. Then she’s turns her back on her enemy. The one thing she knew not to do. As her distraction she looks down at the cliff. Then looks across the cliff to find the other part of the forest a distance away.

As she was concentrating could feel a warm metronome breathing on her soldier. She could feel the demon grinding its teeth. As soon as the demon took its opportunity. Eline grabs her sword and turns to take of the demons tail. The demon gave off an incredible roar and takes her arm by the teeth and swings her above the head. At this moment her dress is taking in replace of her eyes and she can not see. She waves her sword as strongly as she can in mid-air blindfolded. Then their was another roar out of pain. When she landed on the ground and could see again. She witnesses the demon taking a great backward fall from the ledge. She saw that the roar was from the slash she had made on his neck.

Eline: (whispering to herself) Off with your head!

When the demon completely falls to its death. She begins to feel something dripping from her arm. She sits down on the tree branches to take a look at it. It wasn’t until now that she felt how much pain she was in. Her pale arm was dripping with bright red blood. She shook the pain off and forgot about the bruise. Then she heard a shuffling sound behind the trees. As twigs and branches were snapping. She knew it was her sister.

Mena: Eline! Eline! Are you hurt? Eline why would you come back?

Eline: (her back away and wiping off her sword) the demon should be gone now.

Mena: Why would you come back? You could’ve been killed…

Eline: I’m a warrior..

Mena: You're a girl… a whole female… do you think your a boy?

Eline: (gave her sister a cold stare and walked off) You know that’s one way to thank someone for saving your life. A demon who was originally chasing after you.

Mena: But-

Eline: Don’t console me on what a girl should be doing. You're not my mother. (walking off)

Mena: Where are you going? (grabbing Eline’s sore arm)

Eline: Ahhh

Mena: I’m sorry…

Eline: I’m going back to the ball if you don’t mind…

Mena: (hesitating and following her sister) No.. No your not.. Why is everyone after you? What did you do?

Eline: What did I do?

Mena froze in place she knew that was a stupid question

Eline: yeah! Mhmm think about that..

Mena: Okay! I did nothing.. But you rebelled away again.

Eline: Again? Okay I’ll have you know that I didn’t rebell away.. I ran away to distract the demon… from you. That’s completely different.

Mena: What did you do?

Eline: Said something against the law. Why?

Mena: Because whatever it is an army is out to get you.

Eline froze in place she could hear the banging of the horses running through the forest. She could hear the horn of the army calling for her. So here is the truth she thought…

She grew up with her mother, father and sister. As of right now in England, London 1898; for as long as can remember; there are strict and high expectations for women. She didn’t believe in those laws. Therefore she rebelled against them. Until her rebellion phase was beginning to get her into a lot of trouble. Her family of men are warriors and she was interested in fighting and protecting her country. She learned to fight from her father. He has taught her that girls should be able to do what men do. What men were born to do is what girls should be taught. Those dreams became ruthless when she was marked as fugitive.

Eline woke up from her memory.

Eline: run Mena

Mena: what? Why?

Eline: run.. Or you’ll be in trouble with me.

Mena: ( took a long hard stare at her sister) You’ve been running all your life you know…

Eline: you need to go now… Stranger…

Mena runs to the opposite direction and hides behind a tree. Eline waits there. Waiting on the army of soldiers because once again she brutally murders one of the castle demons like a warrior would. They knew she was a killer and someone who would change the world. That’s why they keep chasing her away. They knew what she was capable of. She waited patiently; she could hear the horn in the distance. She witnessed the army lining up up at the same time. There were about fifty of them allon horses and in armed uniform all dressed in black. They stopped in front of a girl with brown shoulder length hair and a dress as black as the night. Staring.

Soldiers: Are you Eline Thompson?

Eline didn’t answer

Soliders: Speak girl...women?

Eline: Who do I look like? (She stares at them with a cold look)

Then as fast as she could she pushes the horse and stabs the soldier who spoke to her. She then leaped onto the horse's back as it begins to ride off into the woods. The horse was running so fast it took a leap over the cliff without falling. It landed on all fours with a BOOM! She stopped the horse in place as it caught its balance again. She stopped in order to stare at all the soldiers. To stare at how weak they are; they let her get away again; and the sad part is they won’t let her have justice.

She turned her back on them and the horse was walking at a pace through the woods until she saw a town. She got off the horse and began to walk herself on the pavement street. She was walking her horse like a gentlemen does for his lady. She ignored the thought of feeling out of place afterall this was her home. She looked all around remembering the town upstate from her farm. Nothing about the area had changed. It was her town's square with small shops, parks, a water fountain in the middle of square and quiet streets. Then she saw a small market within the neighborhood that looked familiar. She looked down at the horse. Dang it! She thought!

Eline:(to the horse) Stay here

She only had a few pound sterling on her. She went into the market and grabbed a few carrots. She was out of the market in a breeze. She fed the horse some carrots and she gave the horse some water as well. She brushed its back with her hand. As she waited for the horse to get done eating. Soldiers were walking through looking at her often peculiar. She listed her head down as the soldiers walked; sulking the citizens. She was trying to hide her face from recognition.

Soldier: WHOSE HORSE!!!!!

Eline: (jumps and rolls her eyes in frustration) Mine...

Soldier: Looks like ours

Eline: You're not the only one with these kinds of horses

(she walks away from him)

Soldier: What is your name?

Eline: (froze) what does it matter to you?

Soldier: Just Asking…

Eline: Get away please…

Soldier: Why are you all dirty?

Eline: Or what? (She stops in place)

Soldier: Can I serve you?

Eline: You can serve me… ( The soldiers eyes lit up) by getting away from here.. ( She gets on her horse and cattles away)

She could feel his stare on her watching her. She knew she could not stay here long but she was determined to go back home. It's been five years she thought. Imagine not being able see your mother in five years. She started thinking and daydreaming as the horse was walking through the London streets.

When she was held fugitive within the country of England. She ran away from home at ten years old and went to Paris to hide away. Within those 5 years she and her sister had been communicating through letters.
